Erin Sweeney, LSW

Associate Clinician

Psychotherapist

Erin is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of New Jersey with experience providing varied clinical interventions to children, adolescents, and young adults. She earned her Masters of Social Work degree at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service with a concentration in clinical treatment of children and adolescents. Erin has also completed training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from Behavioral Tech, is certified in Enhanced Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). Erin has completed the requirements to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey and is awaiting her licensure.

Throughout her varied experiences as a social worker and therapist, the common thread in Erin’s practice has been her emphasis on empowering clients to determine their definition of a healthy, fulfilled life and to learn ways to overcome barriers to living it. Erin has provided support and therapeutic interventions to students in both special education and public schools, to children and adolescents through in-home counseling, and to adolescents and adults in private practice using DBT and eating disorder treatment modalities. By focusing on cultivating trusting therapeutic relationships, Erin has been able to reach and motivate children, adolescents, and young adults who struggle with emotions, relationships, and their sense of self. Erin draws on a variety of training and knowledge of coping skills and therapeutic strategies to reach each client in a way that is uniquely adapted to their needs and their goals. By using techniques from DBT, CBT, CBT-E, TF-CBT, the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA), and person-centered therapy, Erin has worked to promote the success of clients recovering from depression, generalized and social anxiety, eating disorders, OCD, PTSD and complex trauma, and school phobia.
